Lake Bohinj covering 318 hectares is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. It is located within the Bohinj Valley of the Julian Alps, in the northwestern Upper Carniola region, and part of Triglav National Park. The clear lake is particularly suitable for swimming and rowing. Easily accessible by car, boathouses on the south and north shores of the lake rent boats, canoes, kayaks, and SUPs. Because of the gentle winds, the lake is also suitable for less experienced surfers and sailors.
